The Richard E. and Nancy P. Marriott Foundation and Inner City-Inner Child (ICIC) began their partnership in 2012. A recent core building grant has supported ICIC’s efforts to develop capacity around program evaluation and fundraising. This is accomplished through a unique partnership with Fair Chance, an organization that provides comprehensive expertise in organizational management for youth-serving nonprofits in Washington D.C.

Inner City- Inner Child’s mission is that every child in Washington, D.C. has access to quality early childhood education and accomplishes this by providing early childhood education programming to low-income, community-based Child Development Centers throughout the District. Their programs work to create an environment that supports school readiness for the neediest preschool children in our Nation’s Capital. By helping centers become accredited, and stay accredited by the National Association for the Accreditation Education of Young Children (NAEYC), ICIC improves the quality of early childhood education in Washington, D.C.
