HORTON'S KIDS

The Richard E. and Nancy P. Marriott Foundation and Horton’s Kids’ partnership spans back to 2005. Grants have supported general operations, including the development of an on-site Community Resource Center that connects families with critical support services and health and basic needs supports to ensure children are healthy and positioned to succeed.

Horton’s Kids is a community-based organization that serves 500 children, grades K through 12, living in an isolated neighborhood called Wellington Park in Washington, D.C.’s Ward 8. Horton’s Kids’ mission is to empower at-risk children and prepare them for successful and healthy lives through educational opportunities and comprehensive programs tailored to their needs. Horton’s Kids believes circumstance should not dictate a child’s future, and that every child should graduate from high school ready to succeed in college, career, and life.
