The Richard E. and Nancy P. Marriott Foundation and Bright Beginnings have a lasting partnership that began in 2004. The most recent grant was a significant capital investment to support the development of a second center to serve children and families in Washington D.C. This grant was made in recognition of the tremendous work that Bright Beginnings does every day to fill an extraordinary need in the community.

Bright Beginnings is a nationally accredited child and family development center for homeless families with young children in Washington, D.C. Its mission is to provide homeless children with a safe, nurturing, educational environment; prepare children to enter kindergarten ready to learn, and support parents towards self-sufficiency. At Bright Beginnings, children experience continuity and routine which are essential to their healthy development.
